  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper, divided
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 ounces Provolone cheese, sliced

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
  2. Season the ribeye steak with half of the salt and pepper, then coat with canola oil.
  3. Heat a cast-iron skillet on high heat and cook the steak for 2 minutes without stirring or flipping.
  4. Add Worcestershire sauce and stir. Remove the steak from the pan.
  5. In the same pan, add butter, green bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and the remaining salt and pepper.
  6. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until slightly browned.
  7. Spread mayonnaise over both halves of the French bread.
