Ingredients:

  • 450 grams (1 pound) sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons bacon grease or olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 ounces fresh mushrooms, minced
  • 1/2 large green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 Hawaiian Rolls
  • 80 grams (1/3 cup) mayonnaise
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 175 grams (3/4 cup) Cheez Whiz

Garlic Butter:

  • 45 grams (3 tablespoons) salted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon roasted garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Italian parsley, minced

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a baking dish or baking sheet and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat bacon grease or olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic, onion, mushrooms, and bell pepper for about 10 minutes, or until softened. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced steak, sea salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the meat is almost done.
  4. Add the sautéed vegetables back to the skillet with the steak. Stir and simmer until fully cooked.
  5. Slice the Hawaiian Rolls in half horizontally as a whole, creating a top layer and a bottom layer.
  6. Place the bottom layer of the rolls in the prepared baking dish or baking sheet.
  7. Spread mayonnaise on the bottoms of the rolls.
  8. Layer provolone cheese on top of the mayonnaise.
  9. Pile the steak and vegetable mixture generously onto each roll.
  10. Add a dollop of Cheez Whiz on top of the steak mixture.
  11. Place the top layer of rolls over the Cheez Whiz.
  12. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, roasted garlic powder, and minced parsley to make garlic butter.
  13. Brush the tops of the rolls with the garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle with additional minced parsley if desired.
  14. Cover the baking dish or baking sheet with aluminum foil to prevent the rolls from browning too quickly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  15. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown.
  16. Serve the sliders warm and enjoy!

Notes:

  • Customize your sliders by adding your favorite toppings, such as sliced jalapeños or roasted red peppers.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute the sirloin steak with thinly sliced mushrooms or grilled tofu.
  • Leftover sliders can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
