“CRACK SNACK” – A SWEET AND SALTY SNACK

INGREDIENTS:

  • 454 grams 1 lb salted butter
  • 226 grams 8 ounces brown sugar
  • 340 grams 12 ounces Crispix cereal (about 340 grams or 12 ounces)
  • 170 grams 6 ounces chopped pecans

INSTRUCTIONS :

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Line an extra-large baking sheet, or use two smaller ones, with foil and lightly spray them with cooking spray.
  • Spread the Crispix cereal and chopped pecans evenly on the prepared baking sheets. Set them aside.
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the salted butter and brown sugar. Stir continuously and allow the mixture to boil for two minutes.
  • Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal and nuts, tossing to ensure they are evenly coated.
  • Bake the mixture for 8 minutes, remove it from the oven, stir it, and then bake for an additional 8 minutes.
  • Allow the “Crack Snack” to cool on the baking sheets, breaking apart any large clumps with a wooden spoon or spatula.
