Ingredients:

For The Dough:

  • 500g (4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 67g (1/3 cup) granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp.) Rapid Rise Instant Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 355ml (1 1/2 cups) milk
  • 85g (6 tablespoons) butter
  • 1 egg, room temperature

For The Cinnamon Sugar Filling:

  • 57g (1/4 cup) butter, room temperature
  • 133g (2/3 cup) light brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

For The Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 113g (4 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
  • 113g (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 360g (3 cups) powdered sugar
  • 30-45ml (2 – 3 Tablespoons) milk
  • 5ml (1 teaspoon) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Add warm milk and butter, followed by the egg. Beat until fully combined, about 2 minutes.
  2. Gradually add 1 more cup of flour, beat until combined, then add the remaining cup until the dough forms a ball.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead for 10 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread butter, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar filling, and roll tightly into a log. Cut into 12 rolls, place in a baking pan, and allow to rise for another hour.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool.
  6. While cooling, make the cream cheese frosting by whipping together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, milk, salt, and vanilla extract. Spread evenly over the rolls.
