  • Family-Approved: Tested and loved in our own home, this salmon recipe has become a cherished family favorite.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (2-pound) whole salmon fillet, skin-on preferred
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter OR olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Measurements:

  • Salmon fillet: 907 grams (2 lb)
  • Butter: 42.5 grams (3 tbsp)
  • Garlic: 6 grams (2 cloves)
  • Brown sugar: 12.5 grams (1 tbsp)
  • Italian seasoning: 3 grams (1 tsp)
  • Ground paprika: 2.3 grams (1 tsp)
  • Garlic powder: 2.3 grams (1 tsp)
  • Salt: 4.3 grams (¾ tsp)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Place a large piece of foil on a rimmed baking sheet, positioning the salmon fillet on top (skin side down, pink side up). Crimp the edges of the foil to create a “boat” around the salmon.
  2. Combine melted butter and minced garlic. Brush half of the mixture over the salmon.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the remaining ingredients and evenly sprinkle the mixture over the salmon. Drizzle the remaining garlic butter over the top.
  4. Bake the salmon for 15-22 minutes, depending on your preferred doneness (refer to notes for internal temperatures). Baste the salmon with juices halfway through baking, if desired.
  5. Once done, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes:

  • For a flaky texture, aim for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Adjust baking time accordingly.
  • Experiment with olive oil as a healthier alternative to butter.
  • Feel free to customize the spice blend to suit your taste preferences.
  • Serve with a side of lemon wedges for an extra burst of freshness.

Prepare to embark on a culinary journey with this Oven-Baked Salmon recipe—it’s a true masterpiece that elevates any dining experience!
