Why These Peach Dumplings

  • Simple and Quick: Easy to prepare with minimal ingredients and effort.
  • Deliciously Sweet: Fresh peaches combined with a buttery, cinnamon-sugar topping create a perfect balance of flavors.
  • Perfect for Any Occasion: Ideal for desserts, snacks, or gatherings, and pairs wonderfully with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
  • Family Favorite: Loved by both kids and adults, making it a versatile and crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large peach
  • 1 (8-ounce/225g) tube of refrigerated crescent rolls (8-count)
  • ½ cup (115g) butter, melted
  • ¾ cup (150g) sugar
  • ½ teaspoon (1.5g) cinnamon
  • 1½ tablespoons (12g) all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup (180ml) lemon-lime soda

Directions:

  1. Preheat and Prep:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray an 8×8-inch (20x20cm) glass baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Peel the peach and slice it into eight wedges, discarding the pit.
  2. Prepare the Dumplings:
    • Open the can of crescent rolls and unroll them. Place one peach slice on the wide end of each crescent roll and roll it up. Arrange the rolled crescents in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Make the Topping:
    • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, and flour, mixing until just combined. Spoon this mixture evenly over each crescent roll.
  4. Add the Soda:
    • Pour the lemon-lime soda into the spaces between the dumplings, being careful not to pour it directly on top of them.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the peach dumplings warm, topped with fresh whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes:

  • Substitutions: Use apples or pears as an alternative to peaches for a different flavor.
  • Serving Suggestions: Enjoy these dumplings with a drizzle of caramel sauce or a sprinkle of powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to regain the crispy texture.
